The survey of the chorus of St. Vitus' Cathedral at Prague Castle reached its peak in March 2005. We were able to confirm the existence and location of the original royal tomb built by emperor Charles IV.
The research had begun with the detailed study of plans by the architect Josef Mocker (before 1873) and continued with a series of geophysical measurements, which specified the position of the underground cavity straight in front of the main altar. In the course of the survey we drilled a hole of 38 mm in diameter and inserted a probe into the tomb. The material from the survey is still being processed.
